Many textbooks come from the publisher in a packaged set with other items, such as a CD, an internet access code, or workbook. Both the package and the individual items will be available on the website. Please make your selection carefully, and call the bookstore at (714) 628-4736 if you need assistance. Textbook Rental Agreement - Intersession 2014 and Spring 2014
I am renting and am in receipt of the rental book(s) shown on the receipt. I have paid the non-refundable rental fee, and understand that the return policies of the store also apply to rental items. I acknowledge that the book, whether new or used, is in good condition.
I will return the book to the Bookstore no later than 5:00pm on the due date. Intersession rentals are due February 3. Spring semester rentals are due June 9. If I ship the book, it must be received at the Bookstore no later than 5:00pm on the due date, shipping prepaid. Any other return will be rejected.
I will return the book in good salable condition as determined by the Bookstore. All CDs and other component parts included with this book must be present and in salable condition as determined by the store upon return. Very limited highlighting and writing are acceptable.
I am responsible for risk of loss from any cause, including theft, lost item(s), or return in unsalable condition, such as damage caused by liquids (rain, snow, coffee, juice, etc.), fire (scorched), chemical spills, tooth marks (rodents, pets, etc.), missing component parts, and spine damage.
If I am late or if I fail to return the book, I will pay the Bookstore the full retail price of the book plus sales tax. I authorize the Bookstore to withdraw/charge the same debit/credit card account that was left as the deposit account to make this payment.
I will not exceed the limit or cancel the credit or debit card used to secure this rental until all the rented materials are either returned to the Bookstore or the fees indicated above are paid in full.

Secure Online Ordering
We have gone to great lengths to protect the security and validity of your credit card transaction. Our order forms are encrypted by our secure server to guarantee that the information can be read by us only. It will appear as indecipherable gibberish if the data is intercepted by an unauthorized source. We use the process developed by Netscape - SSL (Secure Socket Layer) - to guard information. SSL is the industry standard for online security. Today's web browsers support this protocol, including Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer and others. Before a business can use SSL, it must be certified by an independent authority. This trusted third party will determine if the business is legitimate. VeriSign, one of the largest such companies in the world, certified us.
How to Tell It's Secure
There are a couple of ways to tell if the information you are receiving is coming from a secure server. 1. Check the security icon. Most browsers use a key (Netscape Navigator) or padlock (Microsoft Internet Explorer). An unbroken emblem indicates a secure browser. 2. Check the URL field of your browser. With a secured server the address will begin with https:// instead of the usual http://.
